On Saturday 24th August, 2013 I was part of an amazing event that brought together food, wine, dance, music, art and creativity of every kind.
Being surrounded by such inspirational and creative people persuaded me to start this blog – to try to express my own creative side, and to emulate some of their achievements in taking pride in the beauty possible in everyday life.
The impetus behind this event – the Ballet Banquet – was a parallel that we saw between all these different disciplines:- the painstaking preparation and detailed discipline that takes place in order to deliver the perfect performance “on the night”.
So that’s what this blog’s about: the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, and the hedonism of the end experience.
Here are some superlative snippets from that stunning event:
Thanks to lots of people for helping make this happen, but mostly to Morven of Antipodes Water for coming up with the idea and getting me involved.
The header image for this blog is taken from the Ballet Banquet and is the fabulous work of Laura Forest – she is the “photographer” in “Chefandphotographer” and I would highly recommend her work.
